Which is more important (for psychology)?

increase happiness VS reduce misery

well anyway, thats my exam question for tmr (What is the psychology of happiness and/or misery, and does it matter?). hmm if i dun go for masters..thats my last ever ever paper everrrrrrrrrrrrrr. quite excited at that thought. heh..

anyway i thought this question's really interesting. anyone wanna have a go at answering it? =p
im really loving what i study now. psychology. attempting to understand human behaviors, a discipline that tries to understand what has pretty much escaped understanding, with the intent of applying that knowledge on various spheres of human activity..helping people towards a way of life thats personally more gratifying..and socially acceptable.

i like to help people. i want to help people. haha.. so here i am, nearly finishing my 4year psych course... my very first step in trying to equip myself to be able to help people relieve mental misery. yaaaa......very first step. seems like loooooooong way more to go....

if i didnt had a paper tmr..i'll pen down more of my thoughts. haha. but now i need to focus. study. haha..

okay, aspiring therapist signing off.
=p
God Bless!

increase happiness. cause when u increase happiness, the misery will reduce. but when misery is reduced, happiness does not neccesarily increase. erm, agree? anyone?
